Workshop Level is the second studio that we have assembled. From the experience of building the two, it is obvious that the space is not the studio. It needs to be made able and have operators who are active and knowledgeable in in its use and sustainability. Beyond this , the success of the studio depends on the way that the studio integrates itself into the surrounding creative culture in both place and space.
To this end, this month we have submitted our workshop to be listed on a new website called Workshops of the World. This website has been set up by a couple friends from Adelaide who have a wonderful studio and wanted a way to display their studio/focus/layout with others. If you are interested in checking out the growing list of studios on the site or want to submit your own workshop, please check out the website here.
On the local level, we will be opening up the studio in conjunction with Craft ACT's 2015 Design Canberra Festival in November. Along with a handful of other studios in the area, our studio will be open to the public on November 21st from 11am to 3pm. Please come by on the day to say hello, hear about the methods and material we use, see the studio and learn about what projects we have made and those we are currently working on.
